When a high-tech military aircraft vanishes in the Congo without a trace, special-ops commander Broyles (Russell Crowe), known for completing impossible missions, is dispatched with an elite unit to recover it and eliminate any evidence. U.N. interpreter Myla Reese (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), recruited for her knowledge of the region’s languages and isolated communities, quickly becomes critical to the mission. As the team pushes upriver and deeper into militia-held territory, they battle their way through a war-torn region overrun by mercenaries and oil pirates. But as they close in on the aircraft, reality itself begins to fracture under the influence of a powerful force hidden within the jungle canopy, turning the mission into a desperate fight for survival against an unimaginable threat. Whatever is waiting for them in this jungle, they were never meant to bring it home.
